Rasmussen’s latest poll on the Virginia Governor’s race is out, and Creigh Deeds’ post-primary six-point lead is now a three-point deficit.
Among the other interesting tidbits:
- Republicans are more firmly behind McDonnell (85%) than Democrats are behind Deeds (79%). That’s also a reversal from the June poll.
- By a margin of 14%, McDonnell is more trusted on taxes, but 24% aren’t sure (here’s a quick primer for those folks)
- The real suprise: despite his own approval ratings in the sixties, Mark Warner endorsing Deeds would discourage more voters (34%) than encourage them (31%)
Now, the election is still three and a half months away, and anything can (and probably will) happen, but it’s pretty clear that Deeds’ post-primary bounce has fallen flat.
