Henry Paulson’s massive bailout plan will be opposed by the ranking Republican on the Senate Banking Committee – Richard Shelby (CBS). In even better news, Shelby isn’t sure the thing will pass.
Shelby’s no fool. He was the Banking Committee Chairman for four years, and during that time tried to rein in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (Wall Street Journal).
This isn’t the populists versus the gurus anymore. We just might be able to stop this thing.
