The most interesting part of the possibility that Dick Cranwell will through throw his race-helmet (Riley at VV) into the ring for Lieutenant-Governor (Riley again) is this: compared to John “Instant Democrat” Bowerbank and Jody “What were the numbers again?” Wagner, Cranwell might be the best candidate in the Democratic field.
Or, to put it another way, Bill Bolling could be looking at a landslide re-election victory.

From the standpoint of the environment, Dickie Cranwell is a non-starter. As a caucus leader in House of Delegates, Cranwell made sure that any legislation that attempted to reign in the greed of his developer buddies was summarily dispatched.
Nominating Cranwell for Lt. Governor would be a big step backward to the Democratic Party.
