I remember an incident in Maryland a few years back when the Carroll County GOP decided to raffle off a firearm. The Democrats got livid, and their very public anger only served to give the Republicans a whole lot of free publicity. In response, the Democrats auctioned a trigger lock.

I remember that incident too, since I grew up in Carroll County, Maryland. I hope that more county GOPs follow their lead. My father and two uncles bought tickets for that raffle.
