This is exactly what I was thinking. It makes me wonder if Warner has been buying off Chichester for a long time. Remember Ken Cuccinelli’s predecessor, “Republican” Warren Barry? He undermined Jim Gilmore, and then, after Warner was elected, took a job with Warner’s administration. Barry’s son Stan is a Democrat (and Sherrif of Fairfax County).

Folks who knew him in the 80s said he was Mr. Reagan small government, lower taxes for Virginia. Power corrupts. Amazing how it corrupts so completely – so fast.
