I just cant support a man who has "changed his mind" on the the issues at the very base of the republican party. With my candidate all but finished (huckabee) I am forced to vote for him. OBama and or Hillary pose a real big problem for me.

I have decided to back McCain as well. I like his maverick streak and believe Romney to be far too plastic. I disagree with McCain on several important issues but find him to be firm in his convictions. I believe the country and the Republican Party in particular would be in much better shape had McCain beaten Bush years ago.

Well the key to McCain uniting the party is to get the kind of conservative that will make the base happy. Mark Sanford of South Carolina would be an excellent choice.

If MCain was subject to the actuarial tables, he would expire at the end of his first term (no malice, just the facts ma'am), but given his Mother's extraordinary strength that might not happen. So, one can't support McCain and love the VP as the heir apparent. Which leaves us with McCain.

Ugh.
